This was the best Valentine's Day in 6 years. What a lucky girl I am to be loved by this man.
All day yesterday I was finding little notes from Dave all over the house that said all the little things he loves about me.
Then I found a pair of earrings he made for me hidden in my makeup bag. I thought he wasn't listening when I was raving about vintage sparrows. He was.
He surprised me today with a desk he's been refinishing for me. I just about passed out. Don't get me wrong, Dave is a sweetheart, he shows me his love by being there for me and supporting me, but he's not much of a gift giver or letter writer. In our 6 1/2 years of marriage I have gotten one card from him and roses once. And that was when we were dating. So, needless to say, it meant so much to me that he took the time to write out his feelings for me and put so much time and thought(and secrecy) into gifts for me. I never expect gifts, but I love cards and letters. Especially from David. He hates writing!
We made sugar cookies to pass out to friends around Logan. The boys somewhat helped(if you can count stealing the scraps to make hills to drive their Lego trucks on) but I'm not posting the pictures because I don't want to gross anyone out who ate those cookies. HAHA only teasing!
I hope everyone's Valentines Day was as full as mine was. xoxo
what a sweetheart...Way to go Dave!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky girl you are. Your family is so cute, and I love reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Thanks for the valentine. I haven't gotten one of those in years!
So cute! Thanks for the Valentine, we loved it!
ReplyDeleteMy Hawkes husband rarely does that stuff either, they say it's so the special occasions are appreciated more... Sounds like an excuse to me!!! LOL :)
