The Dark Knight of GingerBats

Last night I got the bright idea to make gingerbread men without checking to see if I even have a gingerbread man cookie cutter. Well, it turns out that I don't. So they ended up being bats rather than men, but Dave rented Batman The Dark Night so it was kind of a coincidence that we sat in front of the movie eating gingerbreadBATS. Plus I think I'm having a hard time letting go of Halloween...I think I may need therapy....

Our First House

Gingerbread house, that is! OKay all you wussy "gingerbread house kit" people, it may not be the most gorgeous house on the block but we built this baby with our bare hands out of scratch! David made the peices but he fell asleep when it was time for construction and I had no clue what went where so....ahem, it turned out to be more of a fort than a house. The boys did most of the decor, isn't it just stunning?

Blog Backgrounds

I have had a lot of people ask me where I get my blog backgrounds. I just make them in photoshop. If anybody wants a custom background just let me know and I'll whip one up for you. They are fun to make once you figure out what you are doing!! HAHA it took me like a month to finally get it right, but now I have done a bunch and it is super easy! Great Grandma Grundvig

Sunday we drove to Kearns and visited my Grandma. We haven't seen her in over a year so we thought it was about time! We got lost in Kearns which was really stupid of us since we have both lived there for a portion of our lives! The boys had fun talking to Grandma's birds and terrorizing her cat. OH-and rearranging her fridge magnet collection! Ashton was confused, he thought we were going to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Portage so he kept looking under tables and blankets saying, "Grandpa, ya in there?" The boys had so much fun with her and we enjoyed the visit as well.

After that, we went to Dave's sister Kimber's house in Sandy. She has the cutest little baby ever! I can't get over this kid's eyes!!!

Christmas is in the air...

I was so excited the day after Thanksgiving to put up the tree!! (Thanks for the tree Bekah! Branches F through M?!? What the..??LOL) Jared kept shouting "We're making Christmas Mom!!" It is so exciting this year that he finally understands about Christmas and Santa Clause("Clause Clause") And he definately wants "PIXOS" from Santa. Every time that silly commercial comes on TV he yells "Dad, I need those Pixos!" Yeah, I can't see those being messy at all. HA..I can see it now....
Anyhow, we, at our house are very excited for Christmas...but I don't think it will feel right until we get some snow down here!! Dave found this awesome sign in the middle of the road and brought it home for me! Yay for people who drop stuff out of their vehicles!!! It sparkles... :)

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at my sister Katie's house in Eagle Mountain. We had so much fun (although we missed Mark and Bethany!) and the boys got to explore their feminine sides. Katie and Chad only have girls hence only girl toys...

The Bed That Love Built

2 years in the making, Dave finally had time (and a place) to finish building our rustic log bed we've had in storage! The boys were a BIG help, pre-distressing the wood and re-locating all of Daddy's drill bits for him! Mommy was supposed to be sanding, but obviously ended up hiding out behind the camera as usual. (hence Daddy is doing all the sanding in the photos) Well, it took us about 1 1/2 weeks of cutting, sanding, staining (and a little bit of tripping on the stain fumes) and we're finally sleeping like royalty! HAHA I will have to post the finished product later when I figure out a way to take a picture of it because it is so huge that I can't get in the room to photo it! (not exaggerating )

We went to see the WeeWoo!

Last weekend our friend took us to the firestation where her brother works as a firefighter. The boys got to ride in the truck and also fire off the hose! I'm pretty sure it was the highlight of their lives! Dave got to go up on the ladder and although he won't admit it, he almost peed himself! I know I would have!

Celebrating Ashton

Ashton turned 2 on November 7.

Our little guy is so full of personality, we never know what to expect from him next!

He's so sweet and cuddly, yet a little feisty and whiny at times!

We are so very blessed to have him in our family. It was such a struggle getting him here, but all worth it to have such a precious spirit in our home! Happy Birthday Ash, we love you so very much!
