Pesto

I harvested herbs today and made pesto!! Never tasted pesto, but I had to do something with all that fresh Basil!

Stepped out my front door this morning and saw this..

mammatus clouds!

The only other time I have seen clouds like this was after a tornado in Georgia. 

We had an amazing thunderstorm this morning!

Jared and Brody

Jared has found his first best friend. Brody is our next door neighbor and he and Jared will be starting Kindergarten together soon. These two probably fight more than they get along, but Jared still mimics most everything that Brody says and does.  

Lowe's Build and Grow

Twice a month on Saturday morning we go to Lowe's and build something fun. The boys were each given an apron and goggles the first time we went and when they finish each project they get a little patch to sew onto their apron that shows what they built. They also give us free Frosty certificates to take home, we always make a pit stop at Wendy's when we are done at Lowe's!

Door Update

I know you are all just dying to find out what I decided to do with that old door Dave got for me, 

well be in suspense no longer! 

I flipped it over and it was cream on the other side so I had Davey hang it horizontally in our entryway. 

Great Grandma's House

June 15th we took a visit to Grandma's house. 

Unfortunately we only make it out to her house about twice a year so Jared is still a little nervous around her.

 He quickly warmed up once we explained that she is Grandpa's mommy. He loves his Grandpa! 

Ashton on the other hand is not afraid of anyone and will talk anyone's ear off that shows the least bit of interest in listening. He kept bringing her all of her stuffed animals and saying "I bought this for you! It's for you Grandma!" She was super patient with him so she had more things in her lap than she could handle! 

We love you Grandma!

I stood in the ocean: The Oregon Coast

WAY back in June, Dave and I took a trip up to Oregon to shoot a wedding in Portland. 

"On our way home" we took a little detour up to Cape Meares.

Oregon is GORGEOUS. I mean, breathtaking. 

I felt like Bigfoot was going to walk right out in front of us and then we would have to strap him to the top of our station wagon and take him home and name him Harry and care for him as if he was one of us. ;)

On our way we passed through Tillamook.

We didn't have time to go to the visitors center, although I'm sure it would have been the highlight of my life.

This is a Tillamook cow. 

I'm pretty sure that if happy cows come from California, that angry cows must come from Oregon. 

This guy was NOT HAPPY.

 Although, I'd be ticked too if I was chained to the ground by my nostrils. 

I've never been to the ocean before EXCEPT for that one visit to Galveston Texas during a storm and I couldn't really see much. SO I was pretty excited. 

My heart was racing as we approached the lookout at Cape Meares. 

This was my first view of the ocean. It was breathtaking, and I cried. 

We could see sea lions playing and basking in the sun.

We bought some glass whales for the boys and a thimble for my Mom from the gift shop inside of the lighthouse. 

We stopped in the bay and played on the beach for a couple of hours.

The sand and rocks look like chocolate chip cookie dough. mmmm

My toes in the ocean for the very first time! I know I am super dorky but I had to document it.

These rocks are where all the sea lions were hanging out.

Look at me. Standing in the ocean for the first(and definitely not last!!)time!

Next time is Cali baby and I will be wearing a wet suit and carrying a surfboard!

The creature from the black lagoon has offspring!!

p.s. Yes!! I finally blogged these pictures, my life can go on!!!! HAHA
